The chairman of Korea communications commission (See-Joong Choi) visited CSA (Conseil superieur de ludiovisuel) which is broadcasting restraint institution in France and met the chairman Michel Boyon on 6th of Feburary. They have decided to succeed to the previous MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) which was made between CSA and KBC(Korea Broadcasting Commission), the former form of KCC, in order to come to an agreement to exchange new MOU. The two chairmen have discussed current conversion to digital broadcasting. At the meeting, the French chairman said that there is 70% of terrestrial TV broadcasting subscribers among the whole TV subscribers in France and he is trying to convert successfully to Digital broadcasting by 2011 from the level of the government and private citizen. The French chairman has emphasized that he hopes modernized broadcasting service and development of media industry lead to mutual benefits as reinvigorating media policy interchange each other. The Korean chairman has asked to deliver the keynote address of the French chairman at ’WICS’ (World Information & Communications Conference) which will be held in Seoul on 17th June. The Korean chairman has visited Culture Communication Department and met its minister, Christine Albanel, to discuss reformation of French public broadcasting and direction for development of media industry. |
