Korea Communications Commission Central Radio Management Office (Director General, Won Ki Min) has reformed ’Radio Management Committee’ that has previously dealt with radio management to cover radio/broadcasting and telecommunications and economic/legal affairs as well and held the first conference on the 15th. Following the merging with Regional Communication Office, Information and Communication Division last July, the scope of work expanded from radio management to permission/inspection of radio stations and management of communications business, and an advisory committee was recreated to manage these new functions and roles. A t the conference, KAIST professor Dong Ho Cho was appointed as the Chairman of the Committee, and a total of 11 committee members were selected: Chungbuk University professor Nam Kim, Hanyang University professor Yong Gyu Kim, Inha University professor Jae Myung Kim, Seoul University professor Sang Wook Nam, Mokwon University professor Duk Gyu Park, Inha University Jae Cheon Park, Yonsei University professor Bong Gyu Lee, Hanyang University professor Seung Won Choi, lawyer Hyung Sup Cho from lawfirm ’Eunyool,’ ETRI department director Chang Joo Kim, KISDI researcher Jae Hyun Yeo. The selected committee members will inspect the current status of Central Radio Management Office for 2 years and conduct activities to solve the pending problems on radio/broadcasting and telecommunications management such as improving user benefits, planning consumer protection and developing transmission management technology. |
