KCC holds the 14th Communications Users' Week event (Nov 7-9)
The Korea Communications Commission (Chairman Lee Dong-kwan) and the Korea Association for ICT Promotion (President Yoo Young-sang) will hold the "14th Communications Users' Week" event at Marronnier Park in Seoul for three days from Tuesday, November 7 to Thursday, November 9 to spread a user-centered culture of convenient and safe use of communications services.
During this period, a variety of events will be held for users to participate in and experience, including a celebration, announcement of best practices for user rights protection, and digital platform user protection seminar.
On the first day, November 7, the ceremony will be held at Marronnier Park's multipurpose hall to present an award to the Korea Senior Citizens Association (damage prevention education cooperative organization) and an instructor Jeong Young-cheol (damage prevention education) for contributing to promoting the rights and interests of telecommunication service users and award the winning work of the telecommunications service damage prevention content contest.
On November 8, there will be an announcement of best practices for protecting users' rights to enhance the efforts for autonomous user protection of telecommunication service providers. On November 9, a discussion will be held with consumer groups and related experts to protect users of digital platforms.
Training for the elderly to explain the precautions when subscribing to and terminating communications services and how to deal with common damage cases will continue for two days (Nov 7-8). A participation zone will be set up in the outdoor event hall at Marronnier Park, offering people the opportunity to experience new communication services. These services encompass assistance for the elderly and disabled, as well as pet care, all powered by artificial intelligence.
Vice Chairman Lee Sang-in said in a congratulatory speech, "As the use of digital platforms is becoming more common, and new damage is occurring along with convenience that we have not enjoyed in the past, we will carry out extensive support and system improvement so that users can enjoy digital life safely and conveniently."
