The Korean wired communications service market has achieved an annual average growth of only approximately 0.6% due to the halt in the increase of members following market saturation, and is calculated to have a value of approximately KRW 14 trillion as of 2007. In particular, the usage of wired telephone services has decreased due to market aggression by mobile communications services.
In the wired communications markets, only high-speed network services are maintaining a high level of growth. High-speed network services have grown at a rate of 6.1% per year due to the increase in the number of Internet users, and have reached a value of approximately KRW 4.3 trillion as of 2007.
