- 2.25 billion KRW for TV and radio advertising production

The Korea Communications Commission (KCC, Chairman Lee Hyo-seong) and the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corp. (KOBACO, President Kim Ki-man) will implement the “2019 Promotion of Innovative SMEs Broadcast Advertising” project to foster SMEs and promote the broadcast advertising market.

The KCC has carried out this project since 2015 to help SMES with outstanding technical capabilties but with lower visibility or marketing capacity by supporting their broadcast advertising production costs. This year 72 companies (42 companies for TV ad support and 30 for radio support) were selected to receive a total of 2.25 billion KRW support for advertising production costs.

Venture companies in fields ranging from technology innovation, business innovation, green business to global IP business are eligible to receive support. Following a review they will receive support amounting to 50% of costs (up to 50 million KRW) for TV ads and 70% of costs (up to 3.5 million KRW) for radio ads.

Furtehrmore, the KCC will invest 50 million KRW to provide related education and consulting support. In addition to support for broadcast advertising production cost support, the SMEs will receive up to 70% discount from the media labs run by terrestrial and general programming broadcasters. This support, along with a discount for transmission costs, will provide significant benefits for SMEs who need to increase their visibility and marketing reach.

Interested companies can apply from January 22 to February 13 through the KOBACO website and attend an explanatory workshop to learn more about the process.
