Kim Hyo-jae, a standing commissioner of the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), shared policy issues and mid and long-term strategic directions in the telecommunication industry and exchanged opinions with nine BEREC delegations, including the Chairman of the BEREC, the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications, on Monday, April 3. The BEREC is an independent advisory body established in 2009 within the European Commission by telecommunications regulators in Europe to protect the interests of EU member states by activating digital market regulations. "ICT, which has led the development of mankind, is facing many challenges worldwide due to side effects such as information leakage and harmful online information despite its convenience," said Commissioner Kim. "It is also important to establish sustainable policies in the telecommunications sector that consider environmental factors such as climate change and carbon neutrality," said the BEREC chair Konstantinos Masselos. The two sides decided to make efforts for continuous policy cooperation between the KCC and the BEREC in the wake of the meeting. |
