The Korea Communications Commission (KCC, Chairman Lee Hyo-seong) selected 72 SMEs as part of its efforts to promote innovative SMES’ broadcasting advertisements. Forty-two companies including “Oha” and “Chungdameum” will receive TV advertising support, and thirty companies including “Taejongepdee” and “Senghwalnakgwon” will receive radio advertising support.
The selected companies will receive support for 50% of production costs (up to 50 million KRW) for TV advertising and 70% of production costs (up to 3.5 million KRW) for radio advertising. Total financial support this year will amount to 2.25 billion KRW.
The companies will receive consultation from experts across the entire process of broadcasting advertising from planning to production and execution.
Furthermore, innovative SMEs selected to receive broadcasting advertising support will undergo a separate review to receive up to 70% support for the transmission costs of broadcasting advertising.
The KCC began broadcasting advertising support for innovative SMEs in 2015 in order to support SMES that have outstanding technical capabilities but find it difficult to access broadcasting advertising due to the cost burden.
KCC Chairman Lee attended the innovative SME broadcasting advertising support ceremony and congratulated the selected companies, commenting, “the KCC will proactively support broadcasting advertising production and transmission costs for outstanding SMEs that lack the capital or marketing capability compared to conglomerates so that they may increase their visibility and revenue. Through this we will strive to become a more inclusive country.”
He added, “more broadcast advertising by SMEs through this project will also help promote the broadcast advertising market.”
