KCC to Run a Campaign of ‘2024 Digital Ethics Week’ (July 22 till July 28)
The Korea Communications Commission (KCC, Acting Chairman Lee Sang-in) announced that it will run ‘2024 Digital Ethics Week (DEW)’ for 7 days from Monday July 22 till Sunday July 28 along with the National Information Society Agency (President Jong Sung Hwang).
The DEW is held every year with an aim to promote the importance of digital ethics nationwide and marks its 15th anniversary this year. For this year, with the theme of ‘Digital Ethics in Daily Lives,’ online and offline participatory programs will be implemented as part of the DEW in order to spread a culture of healthy use of digital technology at frequently visited places.
Main programs of the DEW are various and as follows: Ethics Meet Up, Event of Visiting Experience Booth of Digital Ethics, Event of Marathon-watching Digital Ethics Content, Event of Posting Replies Online about a Beautiful Digital World You Envision
Especially for the ‘Ethics Meet Up’ campaign, in-person events will be running at frequently visited areas so that people can experience digital ethics in their daily lives.
In celebration of holiday seasons, diverse programs will be available at Iho Tewoo Beach in Jeju (July 22) and Naksan Beach in Gangwon (July 26) for families and friends to experience digital ethics together while staying cool in hot weather through digital ethics photo zones, quiz events, busking, and others.
Coffees and hand fans engraved with the code of conduct and others that salaried employees need to observe in their digital life will be available for free at Gwanghwamun Cheonggye Plaza (July 24) and Yeouido Hangang Park (July 25) in Seoul so as to encourage them to use digital technology responsibly.
Also available at the Experience Booth of Digital Ethics which is running in six regions across the country including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gwangju, Jeonbuk, Daegu, and Busan are events such as OX quizzes about digital ethics and proof shot of visiting the experience booth.
Meanwhile, diverse online events will be held too, including marathon-watching of digital ethics content, sharing of card style news, and ‘A Beautiful Digital World You Envision.’ For more details, please visit the website at https://xn--2z1b40gs9nlqcf0n.kr/main.do.
